Fancy a day at the zoo? Well, here’s an interactive, educational picture book that teaches your kids about the animals in the zoo, what they look like and the sounds they each make.
The neat thing is that it comes with four different languages to choose from, so it would make a great app to help your child learn a new language, either English, French, German or Portuguese. The makers are French (they’re based in Rambouillet) themselves, and I wonder why they picked those languages and not, say, Spanish or Mandarin? Maybe in a later version… You can flip through the book, play a game, or take the quiz.
It’s a bit of a shame that there are no videos included, but I liked the (slightly silly) game where you have to match animals’ heads and bodies. There’s also a quiz, where you have to guess the animal by the noise it makes and some cute visual effects. The drawings by Rudy Spiessert are absolutely wonderful, but at $3.99 ($1.99 for the iPhone app ) it IS kinda expensive, I would have expected a little more, more games maybe, or more of a background with the animals.
We rate this app 4 out of 5 stars
