THE GOOD
In a world where most mobile games are attempting to find the unpredictable success of Angry Birds, we have yet another game intent on getting users to fling one animal against another. The good news is that Sling Shot is just as entertaining as those other versions, but with one extra feature! Here users are given the ability to play online against one another! Imagine if your friends could grab there phone and fling pigs at you while you were trying to hurl a bird across the screen. Swing Shot has successfully incorporated a few key features that help this game to stand out. It is everything we have come to expect from COM2US!
THE BAD
One truth that should exist for all mobile applications is the concept of QUICK LOADING TIMES! The entire logic behind mobile apps is that you use them on the go. For me, this means that there is no sitting and waiting for an app to open. It should all launch within a matter of moments… giving me the time to play as long as I want. This game had extraordinarily long waiting times. These waits, at their peak, lasted as long as 40 seconds. This is too long for our current generation of mobile devices, and I found it a bit distracting.
THE UGLY TRUTH
The fact is that there is no shortage of these free mobile games. The question quickly becomes, what kind of games do you want to play. If you are a fan of First Person Shooters, this game is clearly not for you. That said, if you like these easy controls, no thinking needed, social kind of games… this will be one that you enjoy. It takes no time to learn, no time to master, and no time before you are enjoying yourself. In fact the only thing that takes time is the app loading.
