The app user simply performs a search to find the sales in their area or those indicated through the targeted search. Searching can be done using the current location, or such details as the desired zip code and a description of what is being sought after. For example, someone could enter a search for “desks” within twenty miles of their zip code. The engine then scans the text of every listing in the database and spits out the results.

The iGarageSale app has a “favorites” option that lets the user save details of upcoming sales for later review. They can also send listings via the in-app email or post it to their Facebook or Twitter pages to share with friends. The app also provides turn by turn directions to all sales with address information.
