Australia Unlimited for ipad Review

What do Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, and Baz Luhrmann have in common? Well, aside from their curiously similarly sounding last names, these three worked together in the 2008 historical romance film Australia. But not only that: First and foremost, all three of them are citizens of Australia. Indeed, Australia is quite famous for its steady stream of exports that eventually become popular Hollywood talents, with the aforementioned trio among the most successful and best-known all over the world. To be sure, it’s not just in the crowded sphere of mainstream entertainment where Australians excel, as there are also numerous Aussies achieving great heights in other significant fields. One case in point happens to be another commonality shared by Kidman, Jackman, and Luhrmann. Her name is Catherine Nelson.

Kumon Uppercase ABC’s for iPad Review

Kumon Uppercase ABC’s is a good app with which to teach a child how to write letters at that age when they’re just learning to use the English alphabet.  It turns the entire learning process into a game that kids would most likely find fun.

Cards for iPhone, iPad Review

Posted By Nathan Kline October 16, 2011 | PDT 1.03AM

Let me take you back to 2008 and a service Apple discontinued called iCards. iCards was a web based e-card service that was part of .mac and let you send beautiful cards with a large variety of images to anyone’s email inbox. It was a very popular service that got the axe along with the rest of .mac to make room for mobileme. Well as the saying goes, “everything old gets made new again,” Apple has again stepped forward into the card sector. This time, they have taken the decidedly harder step of moving to physical cards and has moved to service to your iOS device. With the release of iOS 5 has come a new app in the app store called Cards.

PDF Printer for iPad Review

Of course most people on the planet prefer to play games on their iPads, or watch reruns of Two and a half men (though my mind always boggles at WHY on earth people find that show remotely entertaining). However, sometimes we actually do have to tackle something slightly more serious than two guys in ugly shirts, work for instance, and the iPad has turned into a great little helper for working folks, such as those of us who have to give a lot of presentations. If only you could turn any doc or page on your iPad into a PDF, it would be so much easier to share them…

inFlowchart for iPad Review

If you ever have any use for a professional looking flowchart this could be the iPad app for you!
The iPad is ideal for presentations and flowcharts are a big part of those.
The example the developers use to explain what this baby can do is a really cute kitten. Great start. It works very well as well: all you need to do is flex your fingers. It doesn’t have all sorts of bells and whistles, no frills, which is really useful and it works very intuitively. You can really put your own stamp on your presentations. Once you’re done your flowcharts are saved as pdfs or an inflowchart doc.

MK61+ for iPhone Review

Alexander Skobelev goes rather retro with his new take on the RPN calculator. Say what? Well, if your heart didn’t skip beat yet, it probably won’t once I’ve explained it to you, but RPN stands for Reverse Polish Notation, which played a big part in handheld calculators in the 70s and 80s.
The calculator is based on the Elektronika MK 61 calculator popular in the 80s. Just a lot easier to use and minus some of the “quirks” that Skobelev describes on his website.

My Virtual Boyfriend for iPhone Review

When I was young there was a fad that involved little plastic keychains with black and white LED and a few buttons on the front. The Tamagotchi became an instant hit with kids as it allowed them to take care of a virtual animal and watch it grow. You had to remember to feed it and play with it or it would become sad or even die. Virtual Pets seem to touch a need that people have to nurture and invest time in something that will appreciate the effort. So it is now surprise that there is also a certain demand for virtual girlfriends/boyfriends.

Just Shoot Me App Review for iPad, iPhone

Any game that makes use of the iOS motion control has to walk a fine line between a fun immersion into the game and an annoying control scheme. While a handful of games have mastered the completely motion controlled aspects, I think it is the games using a hybrid of motion and swipe control that offer a good balance for a mobile platform. BeTheOne, a small time developer seems to have a good handle on the motion control issue with there latest game, Just Shoot Me.

360 Web Browser for iPhone, iPad App Review

I have a love/hate relationship with Safari for the iPhone. On one hand it is fast and to the point. The controls are clear and easy to use. On the other hand, those large easy to use controls can get in the way of the content. Safari lacks some of the more advanced features that pro users might find useful. There have been several attempts to create alternative browsers and each has met with various amount of success. One thing these browsers all have in common is that they never have all the features of a full desktop browser. While many would say a mobile browser shouldn’t have all the fun, Digital Poke thought otherwise when they released their 360 Browser. This web browser comes about as close as you possibly can to the range of power and features found on your average desktop browser.
